Whether your dog is overexcited, distracted, nervous, adolescent, or simply learning how to navigate the world, our small group classes are designed to provide structured support without the overwhelm of large, crowded training environments.
At Jenn’s Dogs Training Studio, our group training classes are designed to help you and your dog build practical skills that support daily life with your dog. Whether you’re starting with a new puppy or refining advanced skills, our structured programs guide you step by step using positive reinforcement and force-free methods.
We focus on more than teaching cues in a controlled environment. Our classes help you build the handling skills, timing, fluency, and real-life application needed to confidently use those skills at home, on walks, around distractions, and throughout daily life with your dog.
Training is not just about what your dog knows. It’s about helping both ends of the leash learn how to work together clearly, consistently, and successfully in the real world.

Guardians work with dogs in individual stations during Level 1 class

We intentionally keep our classes small, typically just 3–4 teams, so both dogs and guardians can learn without feeling lost in a crowded environment. Smaller groups allow for individualized coaching, easier skill application, and a calmer learning experience for dogs who may struggle with excitement, distraction, or stress.

Our goal is not just to teach cues in a controlled environment. We focus on helping dogs and guardians build skills they can actually use at home, on walks, around distractions, and throughout everyday life. That includes leash handling, timing, communication, and helping dogs stay connected even when the environment changes.

Each training level is designed to build on the last so dogs and guardians can develop skills step by step without feeling overwhelmed. This structured approach helps strengthen communication, improve reliability, and create long-term success instead of short-term performance.

Training doesn’t stop when class ends. Every program includes guided instruction, detailed handbooks, and practical homework so you can continue building skills with confidence between sessions. We help break training into manageable steps that are easier to apply in real life.

Before joining a group class, all dogs complete an evaluation at our training studio so we can help make sure the environment feels safe, supportive, and productive for both dogs and guardians.
We’re not looking for perfect dogs. Excitement, barking, distraction, or big feelings are not automatic disqualifiers for group training. What matters most is whether dogs and guardians are able to learn, recover, redirect, and stay supported within the class environment.
For some teams, group classes are the perfect fit right away. For others, we may recommend starting with private training or behavior support first to help build stronger foundations before transitioning into a group setting.
Our goal is always the same: helping both ends of the leash feel prepared, comfortable, and successful while learning together.

We know choosing the right training environment for your dog can feel overwhelming, and we’re happy to help guide you toward the best fit for both you and your dog.
Yes. Before joining any group dog training class at Jenn’s Dogs Training Studio in Cornelius, Oregon, dogs are required to complete an evaluation. This allows us to make sure the group class environment is the right fit for both you and your dog.
During the evaluation, we assess your dog’s comfort level, your handling skills, and your dog’s current training history so we can recommend the most appropriate starting point. For many dogs, group training classes are a great fit. For others, we may recommend starting with private dog training sessions or behavior support first.
Level 0: Puppy Life Skills does not require an evaluation.
To attend group dog training classes at our Cornelius, Oregon training studio, all dogs must be current on DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza) and rabies vaccinations, based on age requirements
Puppies must be on track with their vaccination schedule appropriate for their age.
If your dog has an autoimmune condition or is unable to receive vaccinations, we require a letter from your veterinarian confirming that your dog is safe to participate in a group dog training environment.
Our group dog training classes are intentionally kept small, with only 3–4 dogs per class. This allows us to provide individualized coaching while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for every dog and handler.

Yes. Level 2: Public Manners builds directly on the skills taught in Level 1: Basic Manners. Dogs should have a solid foundation in those skills before progressing to more advanced training in real-world environments.
If you need to miss a class, we ask that you notify us in advance whenever possible. Group classes will continue as scheduled.
When available, we may be able to place you into another class covering the same lesson for a one-time make-up session. We also offer private make-up sessions for an additional fee.
All clients receive a detailed training handbook, which often allows you to continue practicing at home and stay on track between sessions.
Yes. We encourage having two adult handlers attend your dog training class whenever possible. This helps create consistency at home and allows both handlers to learn the same skills and techniques.
Yes. Many of our group training programs are also available as private dog training sessions, including Level 0: Puppy Life Skills, Level 1: Basic Manners, Level 2: Public Manners, Level 3: Fine Tuning, and all scent work training levels.
Private sessions offer one-on-one support, flexible scheduling, and a more customized learning environment.
Our evaluation process helps determine whether group dog training classes are a good fit for your dog. We look at your dog’s comfort level in a training environment, their ability to focus, and how they respond to new situations.
For many dogs, group classes are a great way to build skills and confidence. For others, starting with private training or behavior support may provide a better foundation before joining a group setting.
